TC Diversity Management – Fostering Inclusivity in Penitentiary Sector

From the 29th of January to the 2nd of February, a trainer of CEIPES ETS implemented a Training Course on Diversity Management at the Bahçelievler Training Center in Turkey. The course was attended by 13 workers in the penitentiary sector who gathered to explore the benefits and practical applications of fostering diversity and inclusion (D&I) within their work context.

The course covered key aspects of D&I management, emphasized creating inclusive working environments, and the trainer has also presented three best practices of successful European projects: “Dime,” “Enfem” and “Pride Network Lead“.

In addition, the class deeply discussed gender stereotypes, the impact of gender limits in correctional facilities, and the relevance of neurodiversity for prison workers.

Lastly, the training addressed the implications of cultural differences in the penitentiary sector.

The success of the program was evident in the positive feedback received from participants. Many expressed gratitude for the valuable insights and practical skills acquired. The hands-on approach, including group discussions, workshops, and case studies contributes to a rich and immersive learning experience.

The positive effects of this training are expected to create a larger change, fostering more inclusive and harmonious environments within the penitentiary sector in Turkey.

CEIPES ETS continues to make big progress in promoting human rights and democracy through impactful initiatives and we look forward to new experiences.
