POSITIVE PARENTING – The training for adult trainers!

The Learning Teaching Training Activity of the project Positive Parenting (2020-1-RO01-KA204-079951), program Erasmus Plus KA202 – Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices –Strategic Partnerships for adult education, has been carried out in Brno (Czech Republic) from 9th to 13th May.

The project aims to provide educational tools based on the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) addressed to support parents and caregivers of son and daughters with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as experts in the field of adult education. In fact, the main goal of the project is to train both through the development of a curriculum, a trainer manual and a parents’ guide. The contents will be available on the app and on the E-learning platform of the project, respectively developed by Inercia Digital and CEIPES.

The training has been implemented in the Faculty of Education of the Masaryk University, in which adult trainers from every country of the partnership had the chance to test the manual and its contents, delivered by members of the project Consortium. They carried out various practical activities connected to the topics, such as the reinforcement, the challenging behaviors, the token economy, the functional communication and the social/self-help skills. The partners of the Masaryk University exhibited an example of good practice about reinforcement, putting into practice a principle of the ABA methodology with an autistic child.

Besides the theoretical and practical aspects, the participants developed skills of team working and collaboration, sharing experiences, knowledge and opinions. They will have the opportunity to put in place the skills they improved, delivering the training to parents in Cyprus, where is expected the next Learning, Teaching, Training activity in July.
