On June 3, 2020, the consortium of the IRTS – Integration of Refugees Through Sport project, met in a transnational meeting held online for reasons due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19.

The coordinator of the project SORGED – SORGUN GENCLIK DERNEGI (TURKEY) and the partners CEIPES – INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT (ITALY), UCAM – FUNDACION UNIVERSITARIA SAN ANTONIO (SPAIN) and
KARGENC CLUB – KARASU GENÇLIK, SANAT VE SPOR KULÜBU DERNEĞI (TURKEY) meet together in order to check the progress of the project.

During this implementation phase, the consortium is collecting quantitative and qualitative data on the issue of the integration of migrants through sport, by sending questionnaires to trainers, coaches, sports teachers and people with a migrant background, in order to gather information on the need for integration, the improvement of skills and the adaptation of migrants in the sports field.

The results of the questionnaires will give us the possibility to formulate useful statistics for planning and developing innovative solutions in the field of social inclusion through sports.

The consortium has agreed to hold regular online meetings until it is physically possible to meet again.
