ESCAPE RACISM – Support inclusive communities!

On the 15th and 16th of June, the strategic partnership of Escape Racism Project [2019-2-IT03-KA205-016906] held its final transnational meeting online

The partners have discussed the status of the project results to finalize and freely release them. On the project website is already available a Handbook and a practical toolkit for youth workers that work with different target groups such as refugees and migrants, NEETs, youngsters from rural areas and with geographical obstacles, Roma, youth with disabilities. These valuable tools explain the methodologies of gaming, educational escape rooms, and “out of the box” used in this project as non-formal education strategies, and provide wide documentation contextualized in the different countries about five main topics: racism and discrimination, bullying, disability, modern slavery, and borders.

Furthermore, an Open Educational Resource is ready to be released with all the materials to replicate Escape Racism workshops with 10 different escape room scenarios, with video tutorials, documentation, and printable materials.

On the second day, the consortium proposed some strategies for the sustainability and exploitation of the project after its lifetime to create competencies and resources that will last for a long period, also after the end of the project. They, indeed, will spread the results on their organization’s e-learning platforms and networks. Furthermore, they will involve local, regional, and national institutions and authorities to share the project results with their members and with the general public.

In this way, at the end of the project, all the resources developed during the two years will remain completely free and available for anyone interested in the topic.

Finally, they evaluated their work for the overall lifetime of the project. Changes and the lack of face-to-face meetings, due to the pandemic, slowed down the implementation of the project but the final result is excellent and of high quality. Creativity, passion, and collaboration led the team to the end of the project.
