On the 2nd and 3rd of March 2020 took place in Sinop, the Kick off Meeting (KoM) of our new project “CHED – Chess Platform for Deaf People”. Because of the Corona Virus emergency, not all partner organizations were present at the meeting. CEIPES, Italy decided to stop the mobilities during this period, therefore no one from CEIPES participated to the KoM. Due to the slow speed of the internet, an online connection couldn’t be established with us.

The main aim of the project is to contribute to the elimination of existing barriers to mass sports for deaf people supporting sports activities of people with disabilities. An interactive online platform for learning chess adapted to deaf people by introducing the sign language will be proposed in order to promote social inclusion through sport increasing the self-confidence and emancipation of deaf people.

The results of the project will include a report of the current situation for the access to sport of deaf people inside partner countries and at EU level, the realization of an EU chess platform for deaf people with sign language videos. Will also be introduced skills, curriculum, assessment instruments and training materials for each performance level of the non-formal training in chess for deaf people thanks to several online chess courses.

A proposal of the structure of the e-learning Moodle platform was presented to the partners-output responsible IPP and together with two proposals for the brand new project logo made by CEIPES.

The next meeting will be in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, by IPP, presenting IO1 results and strategies for the following IOs.
