BECFM – The Italian pilot starts in Palermo

The BECFM project – Building Entrepreneurial Capacity for Migrants Through Online Learning (2019-1-TR01-KA204-077633) has begun on Monday 19 September.

BECFM was financed by the Erasmus+ programme and it was developed by a Consortium of eight partners: Kahramanmaras Metropolitan Municipality (Turkey), Kahramanmaraş Sütçü Imam University (KSU) Kahramanmaraş Provincial (Turkey), Kahramanmaras Il Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Turkey), Fonix AS (Norwey), BEST Institut für berufsbezogene Weiterbildung und Personaltraining GmbH (Austria) and CEIPES.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness about entrepreneurship within migrant communities and empower disadvantaged groups by developing business skills and competencies. Indeed, immigrants and refugees do have the potential to develop entrepreneurial ideas, but they usually lack the possibility to actually develop the ideas since they simply lack instruments and information.

During the first day of training, the participants from the Centro Asante Palermo and Giocherenda reunited at the Giocherenda Shop to learn about entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial competences and how to use the elearning platform of the project. The trainer showed the functionalities of the platform that contains materials in different languages on business, business plan, start up, social enterprises which can be a useful guide for migrants that wish to learn on the issue.

At the end of the pilot phase all the participants will receive a certificate of participation.
