On the 24th and 25th of Ocotber 2019, CEIPES attended the kick-off meeting (KoM) of the “EURIVERSITY” project in Cambridge (United Kingdom), hosted by the Cambridgeshire County Council.

The KoM was the opportunity to get to know all the consortium members and to build the team for a smooth and trustworthy implementation of the project.

After the presentation of each involved organisation, the overall project was presented by the coordinator in its activities, responsibilities and time schedule.

The purpose of the project is to share good practice related to the prevention of discrimination and the effective promotion of inclusion within partner education systems from a point of view of gender and emotional-sexual diversity. This would be done in order to create an integrated action plan to be shared on a European level, starting from European legislation before passing through the rules governing the educational systems of each member state and finishing in classroom practice. The project proposes a collective, transversal approach involving all the institutions taking part in the project, the different educational communities and their social and cultural environments.

During KOM, the tasks for each partner, the managerial, the economic part, dissemination and quality assurance aspects were taken into account. Training activities about the project topic will be also implemented during the project by the partners, in order to boost capacity and competences of the staff involved in the project.

During the meeting many activities were presented. First of all, a visual presentation from each partner, showing the activities implemented locally by them was made. Furthermore, a list of all the activities that will be carried out during the project implementation was presented, among these awareness-raising for discrimination prevention with suggestions for schools, teachers and students, thanks to the realisation of a Teacher Training Plan and an Action Plan to realise with the families. All the dissemination activities were also presented which will also include the realisation of the project website and the establishment of the European Network of Schools Free of Discrimination.

Next transnational activity will be implemented in Jaén, Spain from the 26th to the 30th January 2020 through training activities.
