On the 25th of September 2018, the first Digital-S training day took place in Collesano at MYC – Madonie Youth Centre.

The meeting involved three Ceipes trainers and a group of young people aged 16 to 35, from the Madonie territory and respectively from the municipalities of: Collesano, Gratteri, Lascari, Montemaggiore Belsito and Cefalù.

The aim of the training day was the explanation of the e-learning as an opportunity for young people from rural areas and as a useful tool for the development of new skills, especially digital ones.

The training day conducted through formal and non-formal education techniques (digital quiz, flipcharts, presentations and “mission impossible”exercise) has been effective to introduce, gradually, young participants into the digital world with simplicity and clarity.
Thanks to these activities we have been able to understand what could be the needs of the participants, and at the same time, what could be the interesting information to share.

The results obtained are very satisfactory. We identified two digital skills from the EU digital competence Framework on which we focus and go much deeper, and moreover, all the participants joined the “Ceipes e-learning” platform (http://elearning.ceipes.org), with the intention to continue, individually, the learning course on digital skills.
Thanks to the feedback obtained on the training day just ended, the platform will contain courses that will be developed in the next phase of the project.

The training day is part of the “Digital-S in rural areas” project, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme.
