MY SWEET SMART HOME – The project begins

The care needs of people with disabilities vary greatly and can also change over time. Among those affected and their relatives and friends, there is a strong desire to maintain a life that is as self-determined and independent as possible in their own home, despite the limitations they experience, while having to accept as little external help as possible.

With this thought start the work on the project My Sweet Smart Home (Project number: 2021-1-DE02-KA220-VET-000033058), the project is aimed to open up a new world of opportunities and possibilities for people with disabilities and special needs to live a more independent, autonomous, safe, healthy, comfortable and stimulating life in their own homes. This will be achieved considering the use of smart home technology in order to create better solution for the daily house problems.

The project started with the first meeting in Fürth (Nuremberg) held from 31th of march to the 1st of April, during the meeting we had the opportunity to experience the great hospitality of the Friedrich-Alexander university, coordinator of the project and host for this meeting.

During the meeting the partners had the opportunity to organize the next step of the work that will be implemented achieving 3 main results.

First of all a research phase will help to create a guide to needs, problem, interest and solution in the own home for people with a physical, mental, sensory, neurological or organic disability

The second result will be the construction of a course for adapting Smart Homes for independency and autonomy of people with disability.

These results will bring to the construction of an innovative, interactive learning platform to improve the autonomy of people with disabilities at home.

The meeting was fructuous and useful thanks to the great cooperation of all partners of the project, for the duration of My Sweet Smart Home CEIPES will be in charge of the dissemination and the project brand identity.
