STEMSiL – Partners met in Palermo at CEIPES facilities!

The third meeting of the Erasmus+ “STEMSiL: STEM Methodologies in Sign Languages” (2022-1-DE-03-KA2020-SCH-000087039) project has been carried out in CEIPES facilities!

The consortium dedicated considerable time to discussing the development of methodologies that address the identified needs of deaf students, teachers and SL interpreters. These in-depth conversations centered on refining research activities, ensuring the methodologies are effective and inclusive. For example, partners discussed the role models for deaf and Hard of Hearing students and youth and as advisors for teachers, especially in the STEM field. The discussion revolved around strategies and ways to promote deaf educational models.

STEMSiL platform and visual lexicon development steps were illustrated and submitted to the consortium feedback and to doubts resolution. Besides, some proposal of STEM kits was proposed, to provide kids with appropriated tools to carry out co-created labs. They will be available in the further steps of the project and presented to the Learning Teaching Training Activity which will be hold in Madrid in November!

For the moment, partners are keeping working on the STEM research finalization, always involving deaf and HDD STEM experts, students and youth, teachers and SL interpreters. Further material about the project steps and SL videos will be updated on the project website and social media channels! So don’t forget to follow them at the following links: Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok.
