WATER IS LIFE EU

In the third week of November 2022, the partners of Water is Life EU Project came from participating countries to be part of learning and networking activities called “We fly on the green road” hosted in Turkey by the school Selcuk Yasar Alaybey Ortaokulu for the partner’s staff and related professors. All dialogues focused on water’s importance in the city of Izmir from the 21st to the 24th of November. Water issues have been at the centre of all these days.

All participants – like the professors from the Liceo Linguistico Ninni Cassarà from Palermo – have been included in several activities, like the presentation of the project, management and implementation of the project, open classes and seminar educational tours for the teachers. The first objective was to make all participants understand the importance of international cooperation in solving a global problem like water crises and increasing awareness about the water problem. Through these activities, all participants improve their skills of scientific knowledge, and language skills and increase their tolerance.

Water is Life (2021-MK01-KA220-SCH-000032622), is a project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme Key Action 2 Cooperation partnerships in school education and implemented by a consortium composed by Municipality of Cair (The Republic of North Macedonia), Selcuk Yasar Alaybey Ortaokulu (Turkey), Colegio Séneca S.C.A. (Spain), Platon m.e.p.e. (Greece), CEIPES – Centro Internazionale per la Promozione dell’Educazione e lo Sviluppo (Italy).

The main activities have been: On the first day, Monday, after the welcoming greetings, there was a presentation about the local school and institutions’ activities regarding water and environment and a workshop made by marbling EBRU art. On the second day, the group has done a training to exchange ideas on water and water recourse issues and increase teamwork, a  group discussion a general introduction into the thematic area of the water pollutioın and finally a study visit in Ephesus. On Wednesday, the participants have done a seminar about water, water recourses and water problem in the World and a visit to Karşıyaka municipality. On the fourth day, a first evaluation have been done, as a discussion on how can we be an eco-friendly school and a final Izmir city tour. The last day of the meeting was divided between a tour of the Bird Paradise National Park and a final Project Meeting evaluation.
