VOTERS – Everyone in Palermo for the second students mobility!

We are back! The project ‘VoterS – Volunteers from Schools’ continues to fly high: this time we are in Palermo for the second student mobility hosted by CEIPES ETS!

The project, co-financed by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, has a precise objective, namely providing students the opportunity to develop their sense of active citizenship and learning how to take responsibility to contribute to society’s improvement by personal involvement.

During the 4 days of mobility, from 7 to 10 May 2024, there were many actions undertaken by the students: on the first day, at the CEIPES ETS premises, the students (from Spain, Greece and the Cannizzaro city high school) shared their voluntary actions implemented during the project years and with the support of the school institutions, which foster international exchanges and cooperation.

On the second day, the students were guests at the San Francesco Saverio social centre, where they were welcomed by very dynamic elderly people who shared their stories with the young people and had the opportunity to engage in an intergenerational discussion.

On the third day the students attended a presentation of the anti-vivisection league of Palermo (LAV), which offered the students an overview on important issues such as the protection and respect of all animals and the prevention of stray animals. Finally, on the last day, the boys were all welcomed at the Liceo Cannizzaro, where they ended with training activities and were awarded certificates and refreshments.

The boys, surely, at the end of these days have learned something important, the most of all: only together can we act and implement a concrete change in society!
