S.N.A.T.C.H. – Swimming Instructors Evaluate Tools for Youth Empowerment

On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, CEIPES ETS conducted the online pilot phase of the S.N.A.T.C.H. project on the Microsoft Teams platform. This milestone event witnessed the active participation of 10 Palermo-based swimming instructors dedicated to teaching swimming, also to people with disabilities. The S.N.A.T.C.H. project aims to educate children and youth on cultivating daily healthy habits, promoting physical and mental well-being from a young age.

The primary goal is to address the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring an enhancement in the quality of life and the preservation of psychophysical health through the development of an integrated approach.

The online event showcased the project’s key outcomes, including the S.N.A.T.C.H. manual. Accessible [here], this educational material addresses crucial topics such as physical activity, environmental protection, nutrition, brain function, and sleep.

Additionally, five educational videos, developed during the project’s implementation, were shared with the swimming instructors. These videos covered various themes:

1. Physical Activity and Sedentary Lifestyle

2. Types of Disabilities and Adapted Sports

3. Athlete Nutrition

4. Brain, Aging, and Sleep

5. Environmental Protection and Sport Club Culture

Participating instructors expressed highly positive feedback, affirming that these materials will seamlessly integrate into their teaching practices. Soon, these resources will be accessible on the SNATCH e-learning platform.
