Objectives

 The project aims to:

  • Foster new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning in the context of prison, with a special focus on pedagogy for emerging adult corrections
  • Set up of incubators within education and training institutions across Europe under the form of Correctional Pedagogy HUBS in a transdisciplinary approach, at a meeting point for current and future practitioners, supporting their professionalization in correctional pedagogy sciences with a special focus on career guidance, career management and support for further vocational training;
  • Facilitate the flow and co-creation of knowledge between higher education and vocational education and training, research, the public sector and the business sector;
  • Build and support effective and efficient higher education and vocational education and training systems, which are connected and inclusive, and contribute to innovation.
Activities

The project will engage in the following activities:

  • Workshops and interviews for carrying out a needs assessment to identify the skills and knowledge required by employers in the correctional system and civil society.
  • Production of training materials for an upskilling process, under environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors analysis including a New Competence Framework for the Correctional industry and how VET & HE can support this with adaptive learning
  • Creation of a comprehensive curriculum for enrolled students and working professionals
  • Creation of an e-learning platform
Results

The project will yield the following results:

  • A needs assessment to identify the skills and knowledge required by employers in the correctional system and civil society.
  • A model that involves employers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in the design and delivery of the upskilling process, under environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors analysis including a New Competence Framework for the Correctional industry and how VET & HE can support this with adaptive learning
  • A system for ongoing communication and collaboration among stakeholders in the ecosystem to ensure that the upskilling process remains relevant and responsive to the needs of employers and practitioners.
  • A comprehensive curriculum for each competence in the PICTURES framework, integrated in two new competence-based courses that cater to the needs of enrolled students and working professionals, with assessment methodology, including a quiz bank, to measure the effectiveness of the courses.
  • An e-learning platform to facilitate the up-skilling of correctional employees and future employees, supporting their career guidance am management
  • Recommendations and policy strategies to optimize the potential of science & technology cooperation in the sector of Emerging Adults Justice and Correctional labor market at partnership level and beyond
