POSITIVE PARENTING
The Consortium works on the next results
The KA2 Erasmus+ Positive Parenting project (2020-1-RO01-KA204-079951) is born with a main objective: train parents/caregivers and adult trainers on the ABA strategy applied to the autism spectrum disorders, to amplify and perpetuate the effect of those courses; as well as acquiring sufficient knowledge about ABA and parenting techniques.
That’s why the Consortium developed training material in which spread theoretical constructs and tools to promote the skills development of the addressed target group, for whose this material has been thought and realized. In fact, what has been produced is:
- A curriculum for trainers;
- A trainer manual;
- A parent’s guide;
- An app and an e-learning platform for both users.
The first result is the curriculum, which includes modules based on understanding autism, communication, use of reinforcement, managing difficult behaviours, de-escalating the situation, token economy and strategies for teaching social and self-help skills.
The curriculum, with a theoretical structure, is the foundation for practical activities and advice contained in the rest of the training program, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
It has been created taking into account the possible needs of the target group, for example the fact that the adult trainers feel incompetent to teach parents how to best support their children with autism because they do not have the appropriate professional training to do that.
The curriculum, such as the following produced material, are available on the project website, on the CEIPES portfolio and on the E-learning platform!
