OACCUs – Partners Gather in Cadiz to Advance Journey

On March 6th and 7th, the picturesque city of Cadiz played host to a pivotal event in the ongoing journey of the OACCUs project. This innovative project aims to empower young cancer survivors, their families, and their support networks to embrace a healthy lifestyle rooted in nutrition, outdoor sports, and sustainability.

Bringing together six partners from six different countries, the project embodies a collaborative spirit, uniting diverse expertise and enthusiasm to establish and nurture a robust support network.

This two-days meeting served as a platform to assess the project’s progress and chart its future course. Participants delved into the latest research findings, reflecting on the outcomes of the toolbox evaluation and brainstorming enhancements to further its utility. The discussions culminated in plans for the sustainability of OACCUs project.

A highlight of the meeting was the sharing of experiences from the recent Ambassador Training workshops held in February in six countries: Sweden, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, and Portugal unanimously hailed as a resounding success. The insights gained promised to fortify the project’s outreach efforts. Furthermore, the meeting engaged discussions on upcoming dissemination activities, promising to amplify the project’s impact in the months ahead. A particularly poignant moment was an enlightening session featuring young cancer survivors and an expert, underscoring the human dimension of the project’s mission.

Amidst the productive sessions, participants also savored the opportunity to explore the enchanting seaside vistas of Cadiz and share memorable meals, fostering camaraderie and strengthening bonds.

The OACCUs project is set to conclude in June 2024. For more information on the project progress stay updated by visiting OACCUs social media channels (Instagram, Facebook), website, and exploring the OACCUs toolbox.
