LIVING RIVERS – Promote the Environmental Education through the Board Game during the Earth Day 2024

On 20 April, the Living Rivers project took part in a one-day event dedicated to sport, health and sustainability at the Ecomuseo del Mare in Palermo, in the run-up to Earth Day 2024.

The Ecomuseo del Mare is a living centre for reflection on the historical and contemporary relationship between the city, its inhabitants and the surrounding marine environment. The event, with presentations from local organisations dedicated to environmental protection and education, provided a platform for discussions on various topics.

Among these, the Living Rivers project stood out, highlighting its mission to empower citizens through gamification and non-formal education tools to promote meaningful participation in environmental protection. At the event, the project had a dedicated space where participants were introduced to the board game component of its educational toolkit. The rules and objectives behind the game were explained, and participants had the opportunity to participate in the gameplay and contribute to the testing phase of the board game.

The event was a great opportunity to raise awareness of the Living Rivers project and contributed to the testing phase of the boardgame. It underlined the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental challenges and highlighted the effectiveness of non-formal education tools in promoting environmental stewardship.

Stay tuned for the next exciting developments in the Living Rivers project
