INCLUSION VOCABULARY

The Italian Final Event took place in Palermo

 

On Monday 21st November, the Italian partners of the Inclusion Vocabulary Project (2020-1-PTO1-KA201-078604), CEIPES and Liceo Scientifico Statale S. Cannizzaro organized a big Multiplier Event together with more than fifty participants.

The project’s aim is to sensitize teachers, students, and parents on the important issues of sexual orientation and gender identity to avoid bullying and discrimination within the school environment, and also create a new vocabulary that could be more inclusive towards people of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The event took place in Palermo at Liceo Scientifico Statale S. Cannizzaro where teachers and students from other local schools were also welcomed: one class from Liceo Linguistico Regina Margherita di Palermo and two classes from Istituto Professionale Pietro Piazza.

During the morning, the aim of the project was presented, and even project results such as the synthesis report on the current situation in partner countries, the project website and social media, the new vocabulary handbook, the new vocabulary training courses, and the students video stories.

Some copies of the Italian handbook were given to teachers that were very interested on the topic and the Italian video stories were projected on a big screen.

At the end of the event, the four students that participated at the Learning, Teaching and Training Activity in Porto had the pleasure to explain their experience to other students.

Among the participants there was also a small representation of PROTEGOAntidiscrimination Centre of Arcigay Palermo, which presented the activities they are engaged as the support desk on psychological and legal matters, desk for parents and family problems, education in schools and free SDT testing.
