IDHEApp – Promoting the health through technology

On February 20th and 21st, the first consortium meeting of the IDHEApp project (number project: 101134252) took place in Munich, Germany, marking the program’s inception. The primary mission of this project is to promote the health of young people with intellectual disabilities through physical activity, improved dietary habits, and responsible use of digital technology. To achieve this goal, a specific mobile application will be developed to incentivize participation in challenges related to physical activity and nutrition, aiming to enhance their quality of life.

Over the course of the two-day meeting, the consortium, comprised of partners from Italy, Spain, Croatia, and Germany, seized the opportunity to meet in person and devise a work plan that will guide the project over its two-year duration. Key focal points included the development of the mobile application, to be spearheaded by CEIPES, and the planning of a systematic review of studies relevant to the project, which will serve as its scientific foundation.

The next milestone will be the meeting scheduled for May in Rome, where progress on ongoing activities will be assessed, and discussions will revolve around the next steps, including the pilot testing of the application. This event will be pivotal in advancing towards the objectives of IDHEApp and its commitment to the health and well-being of young people with intellectual disabilities.

Soon, the project’s social media channels will be available, providing updates and news about the project’s developments.
