GREEN WORK 4 YOUTH – The projects is entering its last stretch

On 15th and 16th of February, the Green Work for Youth (GWY) consortium met in person in Warsaw, Poland, to review project progress and plan future work. This was the second face-to-face transnational meeting of the consortium and was an opportunity to align the vision of all partners on the work ahead.

Since its launch in 2022, the project has come a long way towards its goal of providing green skills to young people with fewer opportunities; in fact, two of the project’s key deliverables have been launched. The e-learning platform “Green Skills for successful employment and work in the process of the transition to a more ‘green’ and environmentally sustainable economy”, is ready to be used as an educational tool to provide young people with the training they need to thrive in the green economy.

The 3rd transnational meeting also saw the launch of the “WebQuest for Decent Work”, a tool that is a collection of puzzles, crosswords, and other classic games to motivate the acquisition of green skills and sustainability concepts among young workers.

With the e-learning platform and WebQuest already developed, each consortium partner is in a position to start piloting the tools to gather user opinion on their relevance in supporting green skills acquisition, usability and overall experience. All the feedback received during the pilot phase will be used to improve the tools and make them more useful to the project target group.

Finally, the consortium is already working on the next deliverable of the project, the Summer School “Green skills of youth at risk of marginalisation for successful employment and work in the transition to a more ‘green’ and environmentally sustainable economy”, which will see the light of day in the coming months and which, due to its online format, will be a great opportunity for young people from the participating countries to be exposed to an international learning experience on these issues that are so important for the current and future workforce.
