Dance and Arts to face youth stress

These days CEIPES, as a partner of the DASS project (2021-2-FR02-KA220 YOU-000048187), is holding its local online training to empower young people through dance and others forms of arts.

The educational path is composed of an introduction meeting and five modules, each one dedicated to a specific artistic expression and entirely held online through non-formal methodologies. The whole path was thought to be implemented online to test some exercises and techniques that will be part of another result of the project which is the mobile application “Mind-yourself” that will be developed in the next months.

The techniques pass from the visual arts of drawing and painting to the art of words and sound, through dance and movement to end with a final module to elaborate useful techniques addressed to peers that use creative artistic ways to face stress, and traumatic events and leave emotions free to be expressed through their bodies and creativity.

CEIPES is involving a group of young people coming from the countryside near Palermo, that are fascinated by arts and interested in working in youth or arts fields in their future. They are attending the training with enthusiastic feelings and are ready to get involved in compliance with the emotions of the other participants.

An important tool that was developed to realize this training is a vade mecum called “rule of benevolence” that ensures a safe virtual space for young people and tips for facilitators to respect young participants will and emotions preventing misuse and cyberbullying.

Like CEIPES also the other partners are implementing the modules and photos and videos of the local activities can be found on the project’s social media After each session, indeed, young people create small videos to share the techniques learned that you can find on the TikTok profile of DASS project.
