The 3rd transnational meeting of the CICEE-T project (project number: 101049322-CICEE-T-ERASMUS-SPORT-2021-SCP) took place on 8th and 9th November and was hosted by CEIPES ETS. It gathered the project partners from Greece, Belgium, Cyprus, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Malta.
As a general objective, the project aims to develop a toolbox for the training of safe sports coaches, deeply rooted in the cultural diversity of each country. The expected outcomes focus on the importance of integrating cultural diversity to mitigate violence in sport.
The two-day meeting served to discuss the results achieved so far and future developments. On the first day, the focus was on the development of scripts for promotional videos to present the toolbox. These scripts were based on the answers extracted from the previously elaborated resource. The second day, on the other hand, was dedicated to the recording of these videos, a responsibility that falls to CEIPES ETS, which is in charge of editing and editing.
The highlight of the meeting was the organisation of the first multiplier event of the project, to be place at CEIPES ETS, where different trainers and sports coaches were involved to present the results obtained and gather feedback on the topics to be included in the toolbox. This event will be a model for future activities to be replicated in other participating countries.
The next meeting will take place in Cordoba in May next year. In the meantime, the consortium will continue to work on the development and improvement of the toolbox.
This transnational meeting reaffirms the partners’ joint commitment to culturally informed sports coach education and highlights the importance of diversity on the road to safe and committed sport.
