ALL HANDS ON DECK 360° – Empowering Tomorrow’s Shipbuilders

CEIPES ETS is actively involving young people through the ALL HANDS ON DECK 360° project. With project number 2022-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000087373, the initiative aims to pioneer innovative practices in vocational education and training within traditional shipbuilding sectors, focusing particularly on one of Europe’s oldest professions: shipwrighting.

Recently, CEIPES convened online with students from the “Piersanti Mattarella” nautical high school in Castellammare del Golfo, situated in the Palermo region. The workshop, held in April 2024, drew participation from over 20 young students. It was centered on introducing European maritime areas and showcasing project outcomes relevant to their education.

Moreover, various stakeholders from Sicily’s maritime sector were invited to participate. Through a collaborative portal, attendees engaged in information exchange, shared insights, and interacted with professionals from across Europe. Subsequently, CEIPES outlined upcoming activities, including immersive tours within shipyards to learn construction techniques.

In conclusion, CEIPES ETS is committed to empowering young individuals through innovative approaches in vocational education, fostering meaningful connections and practical learning experiences within the shipbuilding industry.
