CEIPES is glad to be a partner of the “YEAH – Young European Activism Hub”project,  initiative led by BOCS association with the support of the Youth Department of the Italian National Government, which is taking part in Bagheria, a town near Palermo in Sicily.

Over the period from November 2021 to May 2022 the CEIPES team will lead the focus group “Europe”, involving six different groups of youngsters aged between 14 and 30 (with a total of around 90 young people) on a weekly basis, to inform them on the wide array of opportunities available to them through participation in European Union, Erasmus Plus and European Solidarity Corps programmes. Throughout the sessions, students build a comprehensive understanding of the EU, and in particular, the ways in which mobility and social projects can be facilitated for young European citizens.

November 10 2021 marked the first encounter between the CEIPES team and the students. This session introduced various aspects of the EU, including the impact of EU legislation on our everyday life as Europeans. This was done using non-formal education techniques, which form the core of CEIPES’ activity.

The following weeks will be more practical, and focus on supporting students in designing their own mobility or solidarity project, may that be through the European Solidarity Corps or an Erasmus exchange. The CEIPES team will guide the students from their inscription on the online portal to narrowing down their interests and imagining their ideal European project.
