LARPIC – Live Action Role Play to Increase Youth Active Citizenship
Project E-mail: info@ceipes.org
Objectives
The aim is to create a tool that can be used by any teacher or youth worker across Europe to promote the active participation of young people in decision-making and other civic activities. The key outcome of the project will be a LARP package and a methodical accompanying manual to break the apathy towards active civic participation that many young people are experiencing. LARP (Live Action Role Play) is a role-playing game, in which participants physically portray their characters in a plausible imaginary in which they speak and act as actors in an improvisation theater.
Activities
- Promotion of active citizenship
- Gamification
- Creation of tools and games for teachers
- Inclusion in civil rights
Results
There will be two main outputs from the project:
LARP package consisting of Scenario, Characters and Game Instructions. Guide and visual materials on how to do the LARP and lead the follow up discussion. Videos with other modern educational tools will be included. We believe that this tool will allow educators to awaken the internal motivation of young people to participate in public matters and improve the lives of people in their community.
