Last week 3 people from CEIPES’ staff involved in youthwork and human resources travelled to the beautiful coastal city of Oerias, Portugal, to take part on the training activities organized as part of the Erasmus+ project “Mentoring Life: small waves in the big ocean of change”.
The training – that lasted from the 5th of May to day 9th – started with a wide variety of activities covering the topics of critical thinking and problem solving, career planning, and healthy lifestyle. These sessions were intended to test and improve the practical exercises that will be included in one of the main project’s results, the “CHANGE Life Toolkit”, as well as to further develop partner organizations’ capacity to offer activities addressed to youth workers and young people.
After this, a day was dedicated to topics related with the mentoring activity and mentor’s formation, including: motivation, communication and visual facilitation; group dynamics in youth work; and mentoring youth methodology.
Finally, on the last day, the closing ceremony and the handing over of certificates to the participants were followed by a cultural visit to the outstanding city of Sintra, were CEIPES enjoyed together with all the partners discovering all the secrets from the Quinta da Regaleira, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
