A new project to promote children’s mental health!

Lets Talk (101101249), Let’s Talk about Children in Europe, is a project funded by the EU4 Health Programme and implemented by 13 Partners: UTU and MIELI (Finland), CEIPES, Niguarda hospital and Contatto (Italy); University of Coimbra and CHUC (Portugal), MTÜ Peaasjad (Estonia), FUNDACJA SEMPRE A FRENTE (Poland), Centre for Mental Health Care Development (Czechia), NKUA-CAP (Greece), CNSMLA and SNSPMPDSB (Romania), and MHE – Mental Health Europe.

Let’sTalkaboutChildren (LTC) is a short evidence-based intervention to promote mental health of children and prevent problems in case of adversity.

On the 9-10 February 2023, the Lets Talk partners met for the first time in Helsinki to present their organisations and expertise and plan the first steps of the project.

Lets Talk pursues the idea of improve stakeholders’ understanding on the need to mainstream mental health promotion and support within adult health and social care services as well as foster the education to support parenting and children’s development. The purpose of Lets Talk is create a network of authorities’ representatives supporting the adoption of LTC in local and national strategies and policies. In this way it will be possible raise the public awareness of the importance of acting to promote, support and protect mental health of children and families.

During the project life cycle each partner country will run the transfer the LTC approach to participating Member States; the inclusion of LTC approach in local health and social systems and the development of a national plan for further roll-out of LTC implementation in the participating countries. The consortium started also working on the visual identity of the project and on the development of communication and evaluation strategy, under the leadership of Mental Health Europe.
