Green Work 4 Youth

The Green Skills for young people with fewer opportunities

On January the 4th 2023, the Kick-Off Meeting of the project Green Work for Youth (GYW – YOUTH – 2022-1-PL01-KA220-YOU-000085715) was hosted virtually in Ukraine by the Kyiv Business School.

Four partners in total attended the meeting: CEIPES (Italy), Fundacja Marki Polskiej (Poland), Kyiv Business School (Ukraine) and the Educational Centre Socialization (Latvia).

The meeting was successfully run with a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding of each others’ role and the project as a whole, meant to foster the objectives of the European Green Deal.

The Green Work for Youth project rises with the double ambition of meeting the targets set by the European Green Deal by 2050 while developing and updating the green skills of many young workers that should not be excluded by the green transition, especially those at risk of labour social marginalization. The project will therefore focus on green skills building and transfer, using the European Sustainability Competence Framework (GreenComp) as a guiding point.

Among the discussed activities: the creation of a pioneering e-course on green skills based on the GreenComp framework for young people at risk of social marginalization, the creation of a virtual summer school on green skills and a WebQuest to test the green skills’ transfer.

The KOM began with a brief introduction of the partnership organizations, going ahead with a general introduction of the project and the related organizational work plans. There were then a Dissemination Plan presentation and the Quality Assurance Plan.

During the next three months the partnership will focus on developing the e-course on green skills, which will serve as the conceptual framework for the rest of the activities to come.
