GAMEDUCATE – The first workshop to learn about gamification and digital tools

Last 23rd April, CEIPES visited the ICS Maredolce (Palermo) to give life to the first workshop activity of the Erasmus+ project GAMEDUCATE – Gamification in School Education. The Italian experience marked the beginning of a series of workshops that will be held in 7 European countries with teachers from all around the continent.

After the development of the GAMEDUCATE curriculum – composed by 9 modules on gamification and digital resources -, this workshop represents a key milestone for implementing in practise the work done until now.

In line with the project’s objectives, the main aim of the workshop was to empower education professionals. Through collaboration and shared insights, teachers emerged not just equipped, but inspired to redefine their approach to education.

In the encounter, teachers from the ICS Maredolce had the opportunity to explore in greater depth the intricacies of new teaching methodologies such as gamification and game-based learning. After exploring together the basis of these techniques and its benefits, participants explored different activities and resources in order to learn how to infuse elements of gaming into their lessons – especially through the use of digital tools. From gamified quizzes to immersive simulations, the workshop illuminated myriad possibilities.
