D.B.Y. – The international film festival is coming!

The consortium of the project “D.B.Y. – Directed By YOU(th)“, co-funded by the CERV (Citizens, Equals, Rights and Values) program, is excited to announce that the project’s international festival is being prepared!

What is it all about? An opportunity for participants in the project’s workshop activities to showcase their audio-visual products to a large audience of Greek citizens for the first time. After the conclusion of the local events (held in Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Ireland, and Austria), the consortium will raise the bar again, taking the film contest to international levels: next April 3, in Thessaloniki, Greece, the winners of the local contests will meet for the first time and one of them will get the opportunity to win a major award given by a jury of experts in the film and audio-visual industry.

But it does not end there: the festival, which is being prepared, will be an important opportunity to discuss together with the audience and experts not only films and cinema, but also social issues promoted by young people during the making of their documentaries: from psychological isolation, to rainbow families, from brain drain, to acceptance towards physical and mental disability. The project, in fact, aims to make the voices of young people heard through the innovative tool of participatory documentary filmmaking: a unique and valuable opportunity to shout to the world that things must, somehow, change towards a more socially acceptable direction.

Exchange, growth and values: let’s bring international cooperation to new horizons and let’s all fight together for a more equal society.

Stay tuned to not miss any of the upcoming updates about the international film festival and the project through social pages (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) and website.
