The “Youth in action – Inclusion and participation” project, which began in May 2022, which involved 4 young people for a one-year volunteering journey, has come to an end.
The project had the objective of promoting the inclusion of young people in fragile conditions in the Municipality of Palermo, in particular NEETs and foreigners, raising awareness among the population on human rights and solidarity issues.
Volunteers have actively contributed to CEIPES activities with: creation of radio podcasts to raise awareness on issues of gender, environment, active citizenship, etc.; extracurricular support for the children of the Uditore district; use of MADE – Analogic and Digital Museum of Empowerment with facilitation of workshops; Job orientation, activation of internships and inclusion activities for NEETs, migrants and young people on trial; information sessions on the mobility opportunities of the Erasmus + program and ESC.
The volunteers involved have expressed great satisfaction with the taken path, which has allowed them to acquire new technical skills in numerous areas, also developing transversal skills such as autonomy, work organization, problem solving, interpersonal and intercultural communication and at the same time contribute with their passion and commitment to the development of the community they belong to.
