Volunteering activities through a PCTO project – De Cosmi School at CEIPES 

On April 30, 2024, the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO for short), which involved a class of 24 students from the State High School “G.A. DE COSMI,” have reached their conclusion. 

The activities served primarily to orient the students in the world of volunteering, providing a first glimpse into the world of CEIPES and of the activities it deals with on a regular daily basis.  

The activities are part of the RiseLab centers, and have been displaced from after-school activities, aimed at providing study support to the youngest children in the Uditore neighborhood, to the Educational escape room, in which volunteers were involved in the creation of a version of the escape room, present in the CEIPES headquarters, simplified for an age group of 10 to 13 years old. The Library of Things, also inaugurated at the CEIPES headquarters in May 2023, was also part of the project, involving the students in organizing a donation day at their school in order to be able to collect new items for the service. For the Intercultural Voices activity,, the organization’s column present in dedicated social networks, instead, the volunteers were responsible for the creation of new episodes of the column of the feature in the form of 1/2-minute instagram reels and also being actual participants and protagonists of the video content. Finally, in the MADE – Analogical and Digital Museum of Empowerment activity, exhibition route that aims to foster empowerment and the development of proactive behaviors toward the world around us, the volunteers were trained as actual guides of the museum and then they organized a tour of the museum with the participation of their whole class. 

The students were pleasantly enthused by all the activities, and fully embraced the themes that each project aims to pursue!
