UPSKILLING VET – Awareness-raising event in the framework of Pride Month

The project Upskilling VET institutions and healthcare professionals on promoting gender equality in healthcare provision [Project Number 2022-1-NO01-KA220-VET-000088213] is dedicated to advancing gender equality in healthcare.

On June 21, 2024, an outdoor event was held at Villa Trabia, a park in Palermo, to present the project’s initiatives and outcomes.

During the event, the Upskilling Vet project manager emphasized the importance of addressing healthcare inequalities from three perspectives: health status, access to health services, and career opportunities within the healthcare sector. She exposes the current differences and limitations faced by women.

Coinciding with Pride Month, which this year focused on violence against women and the LGBTQI+ community, the event provided a great framework to discuss the challenges faced by these groups in accessing healthcare. It highlighted how intersectional factors such as background, social, and economic conditions, together with sex and gender, can adversely affect an individual’s healthcare situation.

Aligned with the spirit of Pride Month, CEIPES proudly showcased its project and its ambitious aims.
