HE@LTHYYOUTH – Innovation and Youth Well-Being in Komotini, Greece

On June 20, 2024, the picturesque city of Komotini, Greece, hosted a significant event for the European project He@lthyYOUth.

This ambitious project aims to promote the mental, physical, and cognitive health of adolescents aged 10 to 19 through innovative sports practices and physical activities. The ultimate goal is to offer a unique educational digital platform.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of athletes, mental health professionals, and representatives of youth organizations, all united by the common goal of improving the well-being of young people in the post-pandemic period.

The most discussed topics of the seminar were mental health and cognitive health.

Various exercises for stress control and performance maximization were presented, drawing on areas such as mindfulness and mental skills training. Additionally, were introduced exercises aimed at enhancing cognitive health and preventing its decline.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the first pilots conducted by the consortium that tested the innovative methodology. These successfully implemented pilots demonstrated the great effectiveness of He@lthyYOUth’s integrated approach.

Finally, the next steps of the project were discussed, focusing on the finalization of the innovative sport program for personal and educational improvement, mental health, and the fight against cognitive decline. The event concluded with a traditional Greek lunch, giving participants the opportunity to reflect on the day’s discussions in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

The next appointment will be in September at the next seminar to test the innovative sport program!
