On October 28th, the final event of the EMPROVE project, titled “Mental Health, New Addictions, and Social Engagement,” was held, organized by CEIPES ETS in collaboration with the Municipality of Palermo. The meeting was opened by City Councilor Salvatore Imperiale and Antonella Ferrara, Head of Human Resources at the Municipality of Palermo, who emphasized the importance of addressing crucial issues such as health, ecological services, social solidarity, and equal opportunities.
Dr. Concetta di Benedetto discussed conciliatory policies and corporate well-being, highlighting innovative practices for health and combating discrimination. Subsequently, there was a discussion on the transversal skills needed in Public Administration and the necessity of reskilling.
A central moment of the event was the presentation of the EMPROVE project, which aims to enhance the role of the “Professional Relative” in Europe. This project explained the fundamental role of these professionals in elderly care, emphasizing the importance of training in emotional support and emotional intelligence. The event provided an opportunity to present the project’s results to interested stakeholders and target group, showcasing the positive impact of the initiatives undertaken.
All materials and results of the EMPROVE project are available for free on the project’s website, offering valuable resources for the Geriatric Management sector. The event was an important occasion for learning and exchanging experiences, and the participation of councilors and representatives from the Municipality of Palermo underscored the institutional significance of the meeting, promoting constructive dialogue on highly relevant social issues, such as ensuring quality care for the elderly and their families.
