Inclusion through chess

CHED – Chess platform for Deaf people” is a KA2 Erasmus+ project (project number: 613577-EPP-1-2019-1-RO-SPO-SCP) which aims to promote the social inclusion and develop skills of deaf people.

In fact, chess is a sport which allows various benefits, such as cognitive stimulation, self-control, focus and logic improvement. Through CHED, chess can also be a tool to overcome the obstacle of disability.

That’s what the Consortium of this project is working on, collaborating to realize an online platform available in each sign language of the organizations, coming from Romania, Turkey, Ireland, Armenia, Greece, Poland and, of course, Italy.

To keep improving the results, the partners met in Athens on 10 and 11 November, in which they discussed the last issues of the courses development, which start from the basic to the advanced level and will be available in the project E-learning platform. CEIPES, as dissemination leader, gave media trends and presented the communication strategy for the upcoming months.

Deaf people also participated, giving the chance to the Consortium to present them the project and collaborate to guarantee a good quality, following a common line.

Besides, they also spent time together and shared international knowledge and perspective, which contributes to keep building a strong cooperation.

The creation of an EU network is one of CHED objectives. In fact, partners will meet online on 9th December to connect deaf/hearing impairments people and to present them the active platform.
