The consortium of the E+ Inclu-ageing project reached another goal: the development of educational spot videos to support family members of aging adults with intellectual disabilities!
These videos provide a roadmap for addressing various caregiving obstacles, emphasizing a positive attitude, seeking professional help, using adaptive tools and technologies, managing cognitive changes, including memory-enhancing activities, structured routines, and clear instructions to help maintain cognitive functions. Addressing physical decline is critical, and the videos discuss using assistive devices, physical exercises, and home modifications to ensure safety and improve overall well-being.
Besides the topics mentioned above, the videos address the necessity to promote social support, health conditions, balanced nutrition, and exercise to maintain physical health and prevent complications.
Recognizing the diverse cultural backgrounds and linguistic preferences of caregivers worldwide, the educational spot videos are available in multiple languages, enabling caregivers to learn and apply practical strategies at their convenience, empowering them with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide the best possible care.
This accessibility ensures that families across different cultural contexts can easily understand and implement the guidance provided, and the availability of these videos on the project YouTube channel and on the HUB platform makes them easily accessible to families, caregivers, and legal guardians.
This principle has been followed by the consortium throughout all the project lifetime, during the activities and in the deliverables development, among which the Toolkit, the Parental Education Guidebook, the HUB and the policy recommendation report.
