OACCUS – Transforming lives with physical and mental wellbeing

The “OACCUs – OAC Connects Us” project, co-financed by the EU4Health program, successfully concluded in June 2024.

This initiative brought together a consortium of diverse organizations, institutions, and universities from Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece, achieving significant progress in promoting health and well-being among young cancer survivors. The project supported the promotion of outdoor sports, physical activity, and psycho-education for a healthy lifestyle, enhancing the psychological well-being of young cancer survivors and their network. Additionally, it aimed to improve the skills of young cancer survivors, educators, and healthcare professionals.

Key outcomes include the creation of the OACCUs toolbox, which promotes outdoor sports and healthy lifestyles at a European level. This comprehensive toolkit provides valuable resources for the target group. To learn more about the features of the Toolbox, download the report. Furthermore, over 500 ambassadors were trained across the participating countries, equipped to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Detailed reports on the training activities are available here.

Several awareness campaigns were implemented, informing and engaging young cancer survivors and their network about the benefits of healthy lifestyles in post-cancer care and prevention.

These campaigns were crucial in raising awareness and encouraging positive lifestyle changes. The consortium has carefully planned activities to ensure the project’s sustainability, with a detailed plan.
