INCLU-AGEING – A Holistic Handbook for Family Members of People with Intellectual Disabilities 

The Inclu-ageing project, through its comprehensive parental education handbook and associated resources, equips caretakers with the knowledge, strategies, and support necessary to provide the best possible care for their loved ones.

Among the tools, the consortium already finalized the Toolkit and the Parental Guidebook. The project takes a holistic approach, weaving a tapestry of knowledge by combining insights from professional literature and real-world examples of best practices contributed by experts. This amalgamation provides readers with a comprehensive view of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities associated with caring for seniors with cognitive disabilities. 

The handbook is designed to cater to the following audience: 

  • Parents of seniors with cognitive disabilities 
  • Family members of seniors with cognitive disabilities 

The envisioned impact of these resources is significant and encompasses empowering caretakers with enhanced knowledge, competence, and skills, which in turn fosters positive reinforcement, self-esteem, and confidence. 

This handbook represents an innovative approach to offering guidance and support to caregivers. It serves as a comprehensive manual, addressing a wide range of aspects associated with caring for seniors with cognitive disabilities. Innovation is characterized by its adaptability, providing in-depth information on recognizing limitations, surmounting challenges, promoting healthy lifestyles, and dealing with cognitive and physical changes.
