On 21 October CEIPES presented the AGISEC Project during the Erasmus Days event held at the Cinema Marconi. This programme is dedicated to the involvement of young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, including NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and individuals with disabilities. AGISEC promotes health, environmental awareness and a deeper understanding of European values through inclusive sport. This occasion also marked the fourth sporting event of the AGISEC project.
The project aims to involve young adults from various backgrounds, particularly those who may feel marginalized. By introducing new sports, AGISEC encourages active lifestyles while emphasizing their health benefits. The project raises awareness of environmental practices within the sporting world, empowering participants to take part in inclusive sports initiatives. AGISEC is dedicated to creating a pedagogical guide for inclusive and eco-friendly sports and fosters collaborations with local and European partners to enhance the visibility of these practices.
A highlight of the Erasmus Days was the testimony of Serena R., an active participant in the AGISEC Project. She shared her experiences of a learning, teaching and training activity (LTTA) in Bordeaux, where she and her group explored sports facilities for people with disabilities. They attended a women’s football match and participated in cultural events that strengthened their bonds. Serena told the participants about the importance of cultural exchange and how AGISEC fosters understanding and bonding between young people.
The AGISEC project exemplifies how sport can unite individuals and promote well-being. By involving young adults and encouraging inclusive practices, AGISEC can contribute to a more aware society. Through the AGISEC Project, we continue to ‘Make Europe Shine’ by showing the positive impact of collaboration and sport on our communities.
