Objectives

The project aims:  

  • To create an integrated system of services that starts from a public good such as Libraries that are able to self-sustain and continue to carry out its function over time. 
Activities

The project will engage in the following activities: 

  • Establish a new, integrated cultural system centered on public libraries, transforming them into attractive, accessible hubs for cultural exchange and social inclusion. 
  • Create an informal network of public libraries that actively interact with local communities, serving as focal points for connection and engagement. 
  • Implement an inclusive, technology-enhanced, and participatory model of cultural dissemination that: 
  • Adapts to local social transformations 
  • Offers training and information sessions 
  • Organizes workshops, promotes reading (including launching a web radio) 
  • Extends library access through Sunday openings and participatory design activities 
  • Develop a new model of cultural citizenship by: 
  • Redefining the relationship between libraries and communities 
  • Building a “sustainable network” of readers 
  • Collaborating closely with schools, families, and local associations (stakeholders) 
  • Support stable social development and long-term infrastructure, reinforcing libraries as essential partners in community growth. 
Results

The project will yield the following results: 

  • Increased usage of library services, along with the creation of new narratives and stories that highlight the library’s role in people’s lives, aligning with the UN Agenda 2030 goals to bridge initial gaps. 
  • Strengthening of the library’s social role and expansion of services provided to the community. 
  • Enhanced community engagement in cultural and sporting activities. 
  • Addition of 150 new community members who have developed cultural skills through services introduced by the project.
