AGISEC – The 3rd Sport Event in Palermo during the EU Sport Week

As part of the European Sports Week 2024, CEIPES ETS, in cooperation with KILORY ACADEMY, organised the third AGISEC sports event on 26 September. The event, conducted by experienced instructors, focused on the importance of sport as a tool for physical and mental wellbeing and as a means of promoting social inclusion.

The day began with a presentation of the AGISEC project, highlighting its objectives and key elements. AGISEC emphasised the role of inclusive and ecological sports in promoting personal growth and community cohesion. Participants in the AGISEC project’s Learning, Teaching and Training Activities shared their experiences from previous sessions in Bordeaux, providing valuable insights into the project’s impact.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to participate in two martial disciplines: Karate and Aikido. Both activities were open to all and the instructors created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The experienced instructors not only demonstrated the techniques, but also emphasised the values of discipline, personal development and social inclusion involved in each sport.

Participants were invited to practice basic techniques, learning first-hand how sports can serve as powerful tools for building communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. The unique energy and inclusive environment of the day allowed everyone to experience the positive effects of sport on an individual and community level.

This day highlighted the importance of sport as a value of well-being and social inclusion, closely aligning with the AGISEC project objectives and the mission of the European Week of Sport to support active and healthy lifestyles for all.
