Project title: Human Rights Education through Turkish Shadow Puppet Theatre

Themes: Social rights and Inclusion

Aim and Objectives

Aim: To provide youth-workers with the opportunity to create a new method –puppets theatre– as a tool to be able to involve and motivate young people living in disadvantaged contexts so that they can know their rights and then be able to take part actively in society.

Objectives:

1.     To increase participants’ awareness of social rights, inclusion and active participation in the framework of young people living in disadvantaged contexts.

2.     To involve 26 participants and provide them with knowledge about social rights, inclusion and active participation in the framework of young people living in disadvantaged contexts.

3.     To understand the role of young people in their local realities in the context of the social rights and inclusion.

4.     To exchange best practices about diverse inclusion strategies that can be later transferred to other context.

5.     To learn about the puppets theatre method and to become able to use it for motivating and involving young people living in disadvantaged contexts in the access to their social rights. 

Dates and Venue of activities: 14th – 21st of May 2012, Ödemiş, İzmir – Turkey

Financial conditions

During the training course accommodation and food will be 100% covered by the project. In addition to these, 2/3 of travel expenses will be reimbursed.

There will be a participation fee of 50€.

How to be a partner?

The project foresees 2 types of partners:

·       Core team partners – these partners will be involved in the preparation of the training and will have an active role in running the working programme (We already have a core team!)

·       Sending partners – these partners will only send participants to the training (We need participants specially from Spain, Austria, Sweden, Poland, France, Portugal and Germany)
