YOUTH-REC

Cameras on!

Youth-REC – Youth Recording Educational Campaigns (2022-1-IT03-KA220-YOU-000085031) is a KA220 cooperation partnership in Youth, cofounded by the European Union in the frame of the Erasmus+ programme.

Youth-REC addresses the need to engage youth, utilizing a creative and stimulating method, giving youth a voice, training them in useful skills, and providing them with a constructive outlet for their civic frustrations. This project is innovative in its use of creative non-formal methods to engage youth in civic society and encourage their participation, and in its bottom-up approach through three main innovative tools: filmmaking, storytelling, and graphic design.

The projects start in September 2022 and will last 26 months. The cooperation partnership is composed of 7 organizations from Italy, Spain, Romania, Greece, Austria, Ireland, and Bulgaria. Even if the consortium already worked on the first part of the project to produce a theoretical framework, they met for the first time in January 2023.

CEIPES proudly hosted the meeting in its facilities, where on the first day the partners had the opportunity to see and appreciate the space that CEIPES uses to hold workshops, training, and daily work at local and international levels.

During the meeting, CEIPES presented administrative and financial issues in order to enhance efficient management along the timespan of the project. Then, Eduact, the partner from Greece presented the quality Assurance and monitoring plan to ensure the high quality of the final results and of the work that the consortium carries out.

During the first day also ASPAYM, the Spanish dissemination leader, explained the dissemination plan and the tools that the consortium adopts to spread the information on the status of the project and its contents.

Then, most of the time of the meeting was spent sharing the results gained until now on the first part of the project. Partners indeed, shred the national best practices and their research on the three main methodologies (storytelling, graphic design, and filmmaking) that the consortium wants to use to civically engage young people.

The second part of the meeting was focused on designing the workshops that will apply youth-REC methodology at the local level.

In the next months, the consortium will create and test with youth workers the workshop in Ireland through international training and then, they will implement the workshops with more than 100 youth Europewide to make them aware of the power of their voice in civic society. How? Young people will be involved in a path where they will learn how to express their message through filmmaking and how to promote their work that will be awarded at an international film festival in Greece.
