At the CEIPES ETS premises, the YERAME Contest took place on September 10th, with the participation of 5 candidates for the assignment of three scholarships worth 1000, 600 and 300 Euros. The jury composed of three experts in entrepreneurship and rural areas assigned the prizes after listening to the presentation of the entrepreneurial ideas of all the candidates.
The YERAME Project aims to combat the depopulation of rural areas by supporting young people who would like to start a business in their area, thus avoiding forced emigration from their territories of origin.
The candidates presented their ideas and business plan, having 10 minutes each and also answering the jury’s questions.
The first prize was awarded to Giovanni Nociforo with an entrepreneurial idea to create a company in the Termini Imerese area capable of dismantling and recovering materials from boats destined for demolition.
The second prize was awarded to Antonio Guarino who would like to start a winemaking business with an attached literary café in the Valledolmo area.
The third prize was instead awarded to Giuseppe D’Asaro who would like to open a business in the Castellamare area to allow tourists to gain knowledge of both the local culinary culture and the marine culture, by planning food and wine tours and hiking and diving experiences .
Participants had the opportunity to receive advice and tips from the jury members to start their business. They will also be given a Mentoring Program that will end at the end of November to support the concrete realization of their entrepreneurial dream.
