From the 5th to the 8st of March, Luisa Zappalà Project Manager del CEIPES attended the kick-off meeting (KOM) of the project ‘Use it or Lose it’ in Kahramanmaras -Turkey.
The
KOM was the opportunity to get to know all the consortium members and to build
the team for a smooth and trustworthy implementation of the project.
The two days were articulated according to a clear agenda that was respected in
every part.
After the personal introductions and the presentation of each organization, the overall project was presented and the administrative and budgetary parts were revised.
The project “Use it or Lose it” aims to prevent and draw attention on Alzheimer by developing innovative practices and implementing cooperative initiatives.
The objectives of the project are the following: create an activity book in English and Arabic for Syrian refugees to assist in the improvement of memory in the patients, as well as cognitive activities that exercise thinking and memory skills.
Those activities in the guidebook will be used in therapy rooms for the psychosocial rehabilitation of the patients with the assistance of youth volunteers from local community.
National and international seminars will be organized to raise awareness on Alzheimer.
Finally the Consortium agreed on the next partners’ meeting in Palermo on May 2019.
