From the 18 to 19 of February, Musa Kirkar Director of CEIPES and Luisa Zappalà Project Manager of CEIPES attended the kick-off meeting (KOM) of the project ‘IMMIJOBS’ in Athens-Greece.

The KOM was the opportunity to get to know all the consortium members and to build the team for a smooth and trustworthy implementation of the project. 

The two days were articulated according to a clear agenda that was respected in every part.

After the personal introductions and the presentation of each organization, the overall project was presented by the coordinator in its activities, responsibilities and time schedule.

Then, CEIPES presented his proposal of training materials to build the capacity of intermediary organizations (trade unions, chambers of commerce, social partners, vet ngos, employer associations/agencies) to support the employment of third country nationals.

Furthermore, CEIPES presented a draft of the Needs Assessment Survey to assess the knowledge of intermediary organization with regard to the labour integration of third country nationals.

Finally the administrative and budgetary parts were revised.

The project “IMMIJOBS” aims at

  • the work-based learning of third country nationals through apprenticeships
  • adapt their skills to the needs of the local economy
  • matching of apprentices with interested enterprises
  • practical measures to support enterprises and third country nationals
  • exchange of best practices
  • increase the capacity of employers to hire third country nationals
  • increase awareness of the benefits related to their employment

The Consortium agreed that the next partners’ meeting will take place in Samos on the 30th September- 1th October.
