From the 9th to the 10st of May, CEIPES hosted the Second Transnational Meeting of the project ‘Use or Lose’ in Palermo (Italy).

The project “USE OR LOSE” is implemented by a consortium of 6 organizations from 5 different countries: the University of Kahramanmaras (Turkey); the Provincial Directorate for Family, Job and Social Services of Kahramanmaras (Turkey); ABA – Alzheimer Bulgaria (Bulgaria), SSW Collegium Balticum (Poland), AKETH-EG (Greece), and CEIPES -International Centre for the Promotion of Education and Development (Italy).

The meeting was hosted at CEIPES Headquarters in Palermo, and it was the opportunity to discuss current and further activities for a smooth and trustworthy implementation of the project.

The partners, throughout April and May 2019, have submitted two questionnaires: one for patients of Alzheimer, and another one for relatives and caregivers. CEIPES is now collecting and analyzing the statistics for the need analysis of the local area. This will be fundamental in order to create an activity book to assist patients in the improvement of their memory, as well as cognitive activities that exercise thinking and memory skills.

The activity book will be a guide for patients with the onset of Alzheimer outlining what activities can be performed to combat the disease and what cares and responsibilities the family can provide.

The project “Use or Lose” aims to prevent and draw attention on Alzheimer by developing innovative practices and implementing cooperative initiatives at a local, national and international level.

The consortium agreed on the next partners’ meeting in Trikala (Greece) on September 2019.
