ONE GOAL

In Kaunas for the 5 Woman Football Campaign

The fifth and last international Women Football Campaigns (WFC), organised within the One Goal project, was held in Kaunas – Lithuania, on 8, 9 and 10 November 2022.

One Goal main objective is to improve the skills of women football coaches through the development of a new training methodology based on soft skills and psychological aspects and not only on technical and tactical competencies.

The consortium, coordinated by ACTIVE YOUTH – Lithuania, involves: CEIPES – Italy; AUDELE – Uruguay; BAIS – Hungary and BSDA – Bulgaria.

Delegations, consisting of 3 representatives from each partner country – two women football coaches and one project manager, met at Kaunas football Academy to share professional advice and experiences, strengthening in this way the professional network already existent between them.

During the WFC the football coaches attended a practical and theoretical training about injury prevention, conducted by a sports physiotherapist. The expert provided useful information on how to prevent trauma and injuries in women’s football and shared with the coaches some interesting exercises.

The final conference of the ONE GOAL project was also held as part of the 5WFC. The project managers of the different partner countries have retraced together the activities carried out during the implementation period of the project. In particular, the various WFCs and LTCs carried out up to now have been described; feedback from participants was collected and the achievements of the ONE GOAL project were presented.

Two key exponents of Lithuanian women’s football took part in the conference: Vilma Zurzė, president of Lithuania’s women’s football federation, who told the history of Women’s football in Lithuania and Ugne Šmitatė, FIFA referee, who brought the perspective of a female referee in the world of football.

Furthermore, the entire consortium had the opportunity to visit the just reconstructed “Darius and Girėnas” stadium.

Finally, women football coaches have put acquired knowledges into practice, participating together in the ONE GOAL final training tournament.

All the proposed activities received extremely positive feedback from the coaches involved, they indeed are looking forward to the last Local Training Course which will be held in the various partner countries in December 2022.
