MECOS RNET – The partners came in Palermo for the project meeting

On 30th and 31st of May 2022 the consortium of the MecoS RNet project (2021-1-BG01-KA220-ADU-000033670), Erasmus+ KA220, met in Palermo for the second Transnational partners meeting to discuss about the implementation of the project results and the next steps of the project.

The partners involved in the meeting were National Association of Municipal Clerks in Bulgaria (Bulgaria), Kyiv Business School (Ukraine), Wyzsza Szkola Turystyki i Ekologii (Poland), INCLUDE – Interdisciplinary Network of Special and Intercultural Education (Greece) and CEIPES (Italy).

The main objectives of the project are to support sustainable development and growth through the creation of mini entrepreneurial ecosystems in territorial communities, to foster self-employment and entrepreneurial skills, as well as to develop digital literacy of the local communities’ population, seen as essential instruments to territorial and sustainable growth. The project also aims to empower vulnerable groups such as Youth (aged 18-35) and Silver Age (aged over 50), especially in rural areas, promoting digital literacy.

CEIPES welcomed members of partner organizations, showing them around the office and explaining the organization’s activities. Afterwards, the National Association of Municipal Clerks in Bulgaria (NAMCB), coordinator of the project, moderated the meeting, in which the progress achieved so far was discussed and the basis for the next activities to be carried out was laid. Based on the results of a questionnaire administered to entrepreneurs from the different partner countries, a common lack of knowledge regarding digital marketing and the tools offered by the Internet emerged. In addition, most of the participants admitted that they did not know enough about local and European funding sources to start and sustain their business.

The next steps of the project will focus precisely on the implementation of activities aimed at bridging these gaps, through the creation of training courses on business and entrepreneurship, a MOOC and an international platform aimed at providing concrete support to entrepreneurs of all ages and countries.
